Strictly restricted to undisturbed forests where it can be seen puddling on moist sunny spots.
Type locality: "Chiem-Hoa", central Tonkin.
Monastyrskii & Devyatkin (2016) listed 2 Seseria species in Vietnam viz. sambara & dohertyi - the former widespread (N., C.), the latter only recorded from C. (to Lam Dong Prov.).
